To Read or Not to Read: Read
Overview: Happy Belated Children’s Book Week! Coinciding with this week celebrating literature geared toward kids was the highly anticipated release of Dragons Love Tacos 2: The Sequel. In this cute follow up, the world experiences a shocking shortage, if not extinction of tacos much to the anguish of the dragons who starred in the first installment. Coming to the taco (or perhaps dragon) rescue, is the host of the original taco party in Dragons Love Tacos, who embarks on quite the adventure to travel back in time with the use of a time machine to the aforementioned gathering. The plan our dragon loving friend has in mind involves snagging several tacos from the previously detailed party, prior to spicy salsa induced disaster. Upon procuring the desired food item and returning to present day, the tacos will be saved by planting the much loved food item by ultimately growing ‘taco trees.’ Ultimately, the plan goes comically awry and the adventure takes some entertaining twists including guest appearances such as Neil deGrasse Tyson. Overall, while Dragons Love Tacos 2: The Sequel was indeed a cute and amusing read, however it didn’t manage to outshine its predecessor.
My toddler son and I read this book yesterday but he was not super impressed with this one. He loves the first book.

Unfortunately that sounds like the general consensus! I did enjoy trying to figure out who the characters were at the end of the book.

The first book is a regular read in our house. The second was read once and left in the bookcase. Not worth the purchase, but the first book is worth every cent!

My sister and niece expressed very similar sentiments. The original has been my go to baby shower gift for the past year.
