Overview (Spoilers Abound):
When in Spain with Sarah, of course one of the many topics conversed was recent books of note we’d delved into. Over dinner one night Sarah was telling me about the book she’d recently read called The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck that really resonated with her and has provoked much pondering upon finishing. With this glowing recommendation I quickly added this book to my library holds list, unfortunately so did many of my fellow library goers because this title only recently came available for me after much eager waiting. Being a relatively short book and a quick read, I finished Manson’s straight forward approach to life in a day. To be fair, I did have a ton of lab work that day, allowing me many, many uninterrupted hours of listening. Most of Manson’s insights were truly thought provoking, as they encourage you to view your decisions, emotions, and values from a novel, unimpeded light. While the name of the book is definitely attention grabbing, it fails to hit the mark regarding the point that Manson is attempting to get across to his reader. The focus was not on being indifferent and not caring, as was my first initial impression of the title. Instead, Manson implores his readers to be more conscious of what gets them worked up, and perhaps be more introspective as to why they are putting so much effort into that specific topic. Additionally, this concept is only one of the many that are covered in this intriguing book, with Manson’s own unique style and humor flourishing unapologetically throughout this read. I plan on rereading this title soon, as I’m sure my enthusiastic binging caused me to miss more than one valuable principle. As with any book this style, even if you think you already incorporate the majority of these guidelines into your life, likely the author will hit on at least one aspect of your life that doesn’t sit just right. Overall, having thoroughly enjoyed reflecting upon how I run my life through the lens of Mark Manson’s The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, I’ve found a new title to be badgering my friends and family to read!
I enjoyed this book too! Definitely made me look at why i did the things I did and why some things were so important. Learning to let go and not give a &*%$ about stuff that doesn’t really matter.

This is one of my TBR reads, I am expecting a book that will make me aware of how nonsensical it is to care about everything and what everyone does, says and expects like if we were responsible of everything around us. Seems I wont be disappointed 😀 Great review!
