Overview (No Spoilers): Well, where to start. I found Vampires in the Lemon Grove from a Must-Read list pertaining to individuals who had loved Harry Potter as a child and were seeking its adult counterparts. To be fair, from this list I discovered the Magicians and The Bone Clocks, two books I very much enjoyed. Vampires in the Lemon Grove initially had the disadvantage that I had neglected to realize that the book was filled with short stories. I was three or four stories, much to my annoyance, before I realized the stories were not going to connect. With that being said, the individual stories, for the most part, were wonderfully detailed and intriguing, easily drawing the reader into the plights of the characters, however most of these stories ended abruptly without any resolve or conclusion. Specific stories that are true must reads are: Vampires in the Lemon Grove, Reeling for the Empire, The Graveless Doll of Eric Mutis, The Seagull Army Descends on Strong Beach, 1979, and The New Veterans. Overall, enjoyable, thought provoking reads, which will leave the reader with a few too many questions.
