Overview (No Spoilers):
Currently, after my reading list had reached an alarmingly low level, I found a list of books being made into movies in 2016. First on the list was the very short book, A Monster Calls, which despite the length had an element of suspense and mystery. A young boy, who already finds himself struggling to come to grips with him mother’s cancer, bullies, and recurring nightmares, is then visited by a Monster, who disrupts his miserable existence. I was thrilled to watch the trailer for the upcoming movie and find out none other than Liam Neeson will be portraying the terrifying Monster who is relentless in pestering the poor boy. Overall, A Monster Calls is a thought-provoking tale, which provokes strong reactions from the reader for this poor, lost boy.
