Overview (No Spoilers): Over a period of years I’ve heard several friends bring up The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy as a must read book. Based on the aforementioned praise, it was not a difficult decision, while perusing the library for an available audiobook, to select Douglas Adams’ novel. My expectations must have been far to high due to the previous assessments because I was expecting so much more from this novel and going into it I has not gathered the science fiction I was embarking on was a comedy. While I appreciate Adams’ novel for what it has to offer, as goes with my personality, I would have enjoyed more details about the fascinating, surprising universe that Arthur Dent finds himself in. Overall, while as an adult, this book was not quite what I was expecting, I will be adding this book to my list of novels for my future children to read.
