This post has remained at the top of my to-do list since mid December. Half a year later I’m still struggling to write it. The day I was planning on drafting my year in review I received a call from my Dad that changed my life irrevocably within a matter of sentences. My Mom had unexpectedly passed away just a few days before Christmas. We had chatted several times that day as my parents were shopping, with her feeling normal except for recovering from the flu. That said, my Mom passing defined all of 2022, but I will highlight some the rest of my year in what will likely be a more abbreviated post than my traditional year in reviews.

I finished judging my second Self Published Fantasy Blog Off in May and as of December was deep into Phase 2 of my third time judging, and second time time teamed up with the lovely Lynn’s Books.

I positively loved my exciting reading adventure as a beta reader for Brent Weeks, the author of The Lightbringer series. His new novel, Night Angel Nemesis is fantastic and I can’t wait for you all to read it. Seeing the behind the scenes as to how this novel evolved from the first edition I read was fascinating. I’m currently listening to the final product (my third time through the material) and marveling at how much the story changed from the first draft I received.
